Weir is a playwright, screenwriter, TV showrunner, and novelist. His debut novel, Daniel O'Thunder, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book, as well as the Canadian Authors Association Award for fiction, the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, and the Amazon.ca First Novel Award. His second novel, Will Starling, was longlisted for the International DUBLIN Literary Award and shortlisted for the Sunburst Award. He has won two Geminis, four Leos, a Jessie and a Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Award.

Scott Fotheringham will be attending a book launch in Kingston on Monday April 22 to promote the recently released paperback copy of The Rest is Silence and we wanted to celebrate by listing some of the achievements and reviews!
Did you know The Rest is Silence was shortlisted for three awards? These include the Amazon.ca First Novel Award, the Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award, and the Ottawa Book Award. Not to mention the manuscript won the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia H.R. (Bill) Percy Prize in 2009.

Lori McNulty's LIFE ON MARS Shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award

Today, the Writers' Union of Canada announced the shortlist for the twenty-first annual Danuta Gleed Literary Award honouring the best first collection of short fiction by a Canadian author published in English in 2017. Among the five finalists is Lori McNulty’s Life on Mars, published by Goose Lane Editions.
