In Tantramar Revisited, Revisited, Thaddeus Holownia returns repeatedly to record the landscapes and architecture of the Tantramar Marshes and Cumberland Basin. In the accompanying essay, Tom Smart examines how Holownia’s acute vision chronicles the relationships he observes, how the land reveals its history, and how time and human events affect change. This Smythe-sewn paperbound edition features 29 duotone reproductions.

Thaddeus Holownia is emeritus professor of fine arts at Mount Allison University, an elected fellow of the Royalty Society of Canada, and a winner of the Strathbutler Award. His photographs have been exhibited at galleries throughout North America and Europe.

Tom Smart is Director and CEO of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He is the author of numerous books on Canadian art, including books on Mary Pratt, Alex Colville, and Miller Brittain.
