Today, the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association announced the shortlist for the 2018 Best Atlantic Published Book Award, which recognizes excellence in Atlantic Canadian publishing. Of the five finalists, two titles published by Goose Lane Editions are being recognized for their excellence:

SakKijâjuk: Art and Craft from Nunatsiavut wins the CMA Award of Outstanding Achievement in Education

The Canadian Museums Association honoured the achievements of museum professionals at its 2018 national conference in Vancouver, BC. Among the Outstanding Achievement award recipients was Heather Igloliorte’s SakKijâjuk: Art and Craft from Nunatsiavut, jointly published by Goose Lane Editions and the Rooms Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador, winning the award in the Education category.

Book on Lucy Jarvis wins the prestigious Best Atlantic-Published Book of the Year Award

Goose Lane is thrilled to celebrate Lucy Jarvis: Even Stones Have Life as the winner of the Best Atlantic-Published Book of the Year, awarded by the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association. The award was announced at the Atlantic Book Award festivities in Halifax on Thursday evening 18 May. We are thrilled to share this honour with Roslyn Rosenfeld and our co-publishing partner, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery.
The Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association’s award for Best Atlantic-Published Book recognizes the hardworking publishing professionals who bring out new books each season. Each year, the Atlantic Canadian publisher of the printed book which best exemplifies publishing activity in Atlantic Canada receives the award. The Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association Best Atlantic-Published Book Awards has been generously sponsored for the tenth year by Friesens Corporation.

Lucy Jarvis: Even Stones Have Life was published in the spring of 2016. Earlier this spring, the book was also nominated as a finalist for the New Brunswick Book Award for Non-Fiction. The NB Book Awards will be celebrated on May 26 in Fredericton.
