The Prince Edward Island Book Awards were presented at a gala celebration in Charlottetown on Saturday. Included in the list of this year’s recipients was The Bastard of Fort Stikine: The Hudson's Bay Company and the Murder of John McLoughlin, Jr. by forensic anthropologist and former island resident Debra Komar. Lori Cheverie of the independent bookstore Bookmark accepted the Prince Edward Island Book Award for Non-fiction on behalf of Ms. Komar.
