The Atlantic Book Awards Society announced the shortlist for the twelve different book prizes comprising the 2018 Atlantic Book Awards. Among the nominated titles, New Brunswick author Andy Flanagan has been shortlisted for the Democracy 250 Atlantic Book Award for Historical Writing for his book The Endless Battle: The Fall of Hong Kong and Canadian POWs in Imperial Japan.

The nominees for the 2016 Taste Canada Awards were announced yesterday. Bestowed annually since 1997, the Taste Canada Awards showcases world-class, Canadian culinary writing. Included in this year’s shortlist for Culinary Narratives is Sir John’s Table: The Culinary Life and Times of Canada’s First Prime Minister by Lindy Mechefske.

Debra Komar wins 2016 Canadian Author Award

The winners of the 2016 Canadian Authors Awards

were announced on Saturday at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre during the Canadian Writers' Summit.

Included in this year’s recipients was The Bastard of Fort Stikine: The Hudson's Bay Company and the Murder of John McLoughlin, Jr., which won the 2016 Canadian Authors Award for Canadian History.
