Fred Cogswell

Fred Cogswell (1917-2004) pioneered translating French Canadian poetry into English, and in the 1980s, he began his landmark translations of Acadian poetry, often in collaboration with Jo-Anne Elder. Their most important books are the anthology Unfinished Dreams (1990) and Herménégilde Chiasson's award-winning collections Climates (1999) and Conversations (2001).
